info on bear hunt
« on: May 26, 2011, 09:54:43 PM »
Just seeing if anyone has hunted with him or on the res? Dose this sound like a good deal? Just looking for a little info. Thanks to all that read and reply

There is no need to travel to Vancouver Island Canada or SE Alaska and pay $6,000-7,500 dollars PLUS TRAVEL AND LICENSES for an expensive outfitter to hunt record book Black Bear. Bear Claw Guide Service located on the Quinault Indian Reservation in Taholah, Washington offers World Class Black Bear hunting for $2,000.00 plus a guaranteed over the counter permit Native permit is only $250.00 ($2,250.00 Total for a 5-day hunt). There are way too many bears on the reservation to balance other game populations as well as the bears are causing Severe tree damage to Conifer trees that are widely spread throughout the Quinault Indian Reservation. It is for this reason, a limited amount of non-native hunt permits are issued.

Join expert Guide Jim Jones as he pursues some of the largest Coastal Black Bears you will ever see anywhere. Many of the bears harvested score well over 20 inches in skull and measure nose to tail over 7 feet plus in length. A large amount of the bears that are harvested are big block headed and will be in the 400-500 pound range (See below). Hunts are conducted from either tree stands or ground blinds over bait stations that are consistently monitored by game cameras and are overlooked on a daily basis by Jim himself.

WHY ARE THESE BEARS BIGGER. . .

Just like in Alaska, the abundant runs of Sockeye, Chinook, Silvers, Steelhead, and Chum salmon that enter the Quinault, Queets, and Clearwater rivers provide abundant food for black bears. This source of enhanced protein is what puts on the pounds and creates the growth on the coastal bears of the Quinault Reservation. All Permits are sold on a first bought, first sold, LIMITED BASIS. Hunters are required to provide their own food and local lodging. Bring your camper or we can recommend several places to stay. We have secured a special room rate of $69.00-$79.00 per night for our hunters at the nearby Quinault Casino.

Email contact is best as we are currently out in the field baiting and scouting your bear. We will call you back in the evenings. Email today as this is a limited hunting opportunity and book your Black Bear hunt of a lifetime! May (Sold out) / June (two openings) - September / October hunt dates. THERE ARE VERY LIMITED OPENINGS REMAINING.

ALL REPLIES MUST INCLUDE CONTACT PHONE NUMBER AS WE ARE OUT IN THE FIELD SCOUTING.

Costal will be along later, he knows most of the guys running guide services over there. He should be able to give you a thought or two about them. Haven't heard him say anything bad about any of them yet. There is a few that are a little iffy ;)
