A little help starting out

Hey I am new to this forum and so far have found it refreshing to read some of the great stories of people gettin out and enjoying God's great creation. I am a Dad of three and haven't kept up with the hunting and fishing I once used to do as a young man with work taking a big priority. Please for forgive me I am repenting.

I want to get my kids out and enjoy some fishing and hunting with them before I blink and they are too old to hang out with me. Question I have is (without giving away sweet spots) what are lakes or rivers that my kids could have reasonable success at this summer. Crappie, bass or trout are fine. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We are in eastern king county but will travel to eastern wa also

fish the Snohomish river or the Skagit river for pink salmon. 1st week of September... Your kids will have a blast...

Growing up in duvall right down the rd from Lake Margaret we would sometimes go fish there...ok so being kids we'd mostly swim but, lots of little lakes in Duvall that used to be fun for fishing for kids...probably all surrounded by microsoft money now instead of the hippies of my days  honestly I far preferred fishing on Orcas Island and on Camano Island love saltwater fishing and have since I was pretty little.

Thanks for the replies. Great suggestions and hadn't thought about salt water or salmon fishing with the kids. hoping to get out for a few hours today and get them interested.

Take a look at  Mardon resort on potholes. Great family friendly fishing resort with fishing dock if you don't have the boat or they even have rentals.

X2 on fishing the Snohomish or lower Skykomish in late August and September for the Humpies.  It is a blast!! I will have my 3 year old out to get his first salmon in August.  How old are your kids? If you want to pm me when the season draws near I may be able to squeeze you in my boat or possibly hook up and show you a few good spots and methods. Good luck !

Also Crescent lake just south of.monroe can be good all summer for a bunch of different species.  A simple bobber with worm will keep them busy most days, especially if you have a small boat you can manhandle into the water

also any of the area lakes around spokane have great trout fishing..if u ever travel this way

Way to help him out guy's, if you were in my area I would be happy to help you out. But don't think you want to drive a few hrs for some trout fishing
