Havn't decided what I am going to do with him yet.  It will either be a Life Size, Rug, or stay a Soft/Dry Tan.  It's not like taxidemists ever get the opertunity to mount there own animals.

Michelle just saw the video, and WOW!  You drilled him good!  What caliber was it?

Savage model 110 30-06 with a 165gr SUPERFORMANCE Hornady SST.

I had someone say it looks like a head shot.  It wasn't.  It went in one shoulder, broke the spine, out the other shoulder.  Broke both shoulder blades.

Cool video. Packed it out like it was nothing, kinda like a school backpack full of books :chuckle:. I would have sworn that was a Ruger you were shooting.

the way the head jerked in the video and how limp he went my first impression was it was a spinal shot.  That's great the bullet went through both blades and didnt deflect or flatten!

Yeah it went through both blades center about 3 1/2 inches from the top.  Looked like I snapped both blades off.  It went through the spine.  The exit wound was a little bigger than a quarter if I remember.

:chuckle:  That was a Hen Turkey we saw cross the road and that is the only footage we got of her.  It was put in the video to see if anyone would catch it.

Looked like a turkey to me getting out of the way!

Oh and the opening scenes before you crossed the cattle guard. I hope you weren't hunting as that is Private. But I give ya credit watching you did cover a ton of the unit.

Great job Michelle, I'm really happy for you. And great job Dale, I love the video. I noticed that black flash in the video also. I was going to ask the same question. Well, was it a bear?
