Chinese SKS - Value?
« on: May 31, 2011, 12:10:04 PM »
What's the going rate for one of these?
Condition is fair, I would say.  Stock and steel, in appearance, seems OK.  Nothing special.
No bayonet - missing!
It's my bosses.  He's thinning out his stuff so just wondering what it's for sale value is.

I already snagged his '41 Mauser 98, sporterized stock and still chambered in 7.92x57, originally built in Germany for $200.

Nothing... i'll help dispose of it for him  :chuckle:

Haven't really looked at SKS' in a few years but i wouldn't pay more than $150-200 for one no matter the condition. And that would be the very top of my price range.

If it's in fair condition with no cracks in the wood or pitting in the metal but missing the bayonet I would guess $175-200 as top dollar for it, you can buy a nice one for about $300-350.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

That's kinda what I was thinking, if he could get $200, take the money and run.

Yeah, maybe slightly I guess.
Been to Russia.  Marked accordingly.  Numbers don't match.  The action seems in good shape and if not, oh well, it's only $200.  I had a an empty slot in the gun safe so it was kind of a what the heck.   :chuckle:

I would have to say 100 to 150.  If you watch the gun shows and ads, you can find them relatively easy for 100 - 125, sometimes even less than 100.

Please PM me if you see a fair condition or better SKS in the $100 neighborhood, I will buy it!

I am not a pro on sks's so from what I have seen at many gun shows I would say 150-200.
