Hey yelp or other Banks guys

Heading over to Banks this weekend for some walleye action. Going to be camping at the, I thinks its called the Million dollar campground. Just wondering how the fishing has been. This is the first time on the lake for us and I was hoping for some pointers on technique(jigs,bottom walkers,spinners) and areas. I'm not asking anybody for their hotspot or anything but just a general idea where the walleye hang out. Were loooking to catch a bunch of eaters.

The couple walleye I have gotten there I was trolling shad raps along the rocky edges in the late evening/night.  Bass should be getting hot about now as well.  Just as good eating as walleye and maybe a little easier to catch if you get frustrated.  Try spinnerbaits for them.  I also like to just soak a worm drifting along the rock faces and stuff,  you never know what's going to come up.

Banks is heating up.  The recent weather we have has made it interesting.  Fish area all over I caught fish shallow from 5  and deep to 55 feet in recent weeks.  Most are just coming off of spawn.  Some are off and starting the post spawn feed.  Colors vary daily. Jigs are picking up more fish in spots than spinners.  Crawdads and small minnow are the main diet.  My best tip is that Mid lake go bass fishing.  Bass fisherman report catching lots of walleyes while trying to catch bass.    If troling spinners..try 20 - 40' water   troll at .9 up to 1.5.  Shadrap 5's and 7's working also in different colors.  about 100'-150' back troll at 1.4 -2.0.  Good luck and show pictures.

I am planning on making the trip out to Banks at the end of June.  Will the Smallmouth Bass fishing still be decent by then?  I seem to do well there at the end of May and early June but when I get back there later in the summer (late July/early August) I have a much harder time getting decent sized Smallmouth if at all.

Any advice for late June/early July?

We just got back Thursday, primarily fished for bass. No one was admitting to catching any 'eyes. We did mark a lot of fish we think were eyes along the steep banks on and around upper goose island. They could have been carp, but they were all over at the 40 foot level right on the bottom.
bass fishing was great, we caught over 50 in four days, mostly in the 12-14 inch range. Not many dinks. We stayed mostly in the north end of the lake, did some fishing mid lake at millinia (?) And spent the first morning at the lower end. We caught nothing at the lower end. Senkos were the ticket for us. Water temps were 55-58. Thunderboomers and wind kept us off the lake a bit.

Fished Friday and Saturday between the south end of Steamboat up to just past Jones Bay. Between the 3 of us, we ended up with around 30 keeper walleye, with none over the 22" limit, but alot that were close. All caught in less than 20' of water. Some buddies in other boats did pretty good to with some "eyes" up to 7.5lbs. They might post a report and pics......

Did you notice a color preference and you guys trolling or jigging?

Jigging. pearl white, chartruese, black/white, blueish white 3-4" minnows and some curly tail grubs 1/4 to 3/8 oz. head. Some fish were caught while trolling this set up between 1 and 2 miles an hour.
A friend caught some fish while trolling crankbaits and at other times lindy rigging a worm, but for us it was all rubber...
