« on: June 06, 2011, 01:19:11 PM »

Last I remember it was illegal to snag any fish but I can't say for sure anymore. I haven't checked in years...

the regs say that, but i was in pot holes a couple years back and we were fishin for emm on some little canal type deal, a fish and game officer came up and was talkin to us. he gave my buddies son a couple big trebble hooks and said as long as he left them on the bank to die that he could snag emm. funny to see a little kid runnin up and down the canal with one on his trout rod, even funnier when he and dad had notices while chasin emm the had picked up literally hundreds of ticks. in the case of carp overwhelming a body of water i dont think fish and game cares. but that being said the law is the law.

ya, i had a warden tell me its fine before too, since carp aren't clasified as game fish,..  but the part i quoted earlier says "fish" not game fish,   but it funny cuz you don't get the carp by the mouth when spear fishing.  lol  maybe i can snag car by the head?  :yike:

Hmm...is a stinky old carp really worth the hassle of being harassed by a gamie who read that rule differently than you???

Spearing them sounds fun though
