heading to Yakima this weekend for my fiance's sister's high school graduation. any good places to shed hunt this late in the season? just looking for somewhere to hike around for a few hours with a decent chance of finding some sheds...

it don't matter how many times a place has been hiked. You never know when a shed gets left behind. These guys just don't want you to be the one to find something they missed. I say hike hard and good luck! Just look for a spot that would have some wildlife running around. And yes watch out for snakes.

Start with teh Oak Creek WL area. Drive in and find a place that feels right for you and start looking.

I say go for it. I was staying in the Yakima area for work last week and took a hike up in the Oak Creek area. Never been there before but had heard stories and wanted to check it out. I saw five elk and found a shed within 20 minutes of leaving the truck. Beautiful area up there.

Get in there and find a steep deep dark hillside and you might be surprised about what is still left!  Good luck I always find more after everyone has left and given up fort the year.
Hunting and fishing season lasts all year.

Snakes - really??  I HATE SNAKES!!!    :mgun:
I have hunted the Naches area for over 20 years and have never seen a snake.  Just wondering if this is  joke to discourage people or if indeed I need to be on the look out ???   :dunno:

Stay off of rock slides - I  almost stepped on one a few years ago, thanks to the rattle warning I jumped my way off back to the grass -  it was a smaller slide, only about 20 feet across. Same thing happend to my friend the next year on a small rock slide. He jumped away also but wiped out & bruised himself a bit - got away from the snake anyway.

This was in an area a few miles up off the Columbia River on the Oregon side,
