Good bull! I was over fishing bumping last weekend and saw a few bulls. You should have no problem finding elk over there but defiantly get into good shape.

Just spent a week camping there.  Lots of nice bulls and a few spikes.  Talked to a local guy and between what he said and my observations, .....go find steep hillsides where the bed and set up. When I say steep I mean STEEP!  They like looking down at you. That's what I saw.  Ran into one young two point bull who kept buggling every morning and wandered in and around our camp all the time.  Not afraid of humans...yet!
Good luck! Build up the legs or find the routes and set up on them.

Fantastic area....Hunted most of my life in that area.  You do not need to hike in the wilderness to kill a monster bull, though it can increase your odds.  Never drawn a big bull tag for the area, but before it went to spike / cow and now spike only I missed the biggest bull I have ever seen in Washington.

Good Luck

I spent Friday night in bumping up on top.  Good times.  Didn't see any elk but they are trickling back in.  However the game department doesn't think there are any cows in the unit.   :bash:
