Congrats! The good ones are few and far between these days but there are still a few good ones. Fun hunt for sure.

waste of points if you ask me.  I would of held out for just a little better tag.  But if your happy that's all that matters.

I have seen some huge bucks while bowhunting 5years ago so I know it has potential. Just need to have a lot of options. Not really needing to get a huge one, but would be nice!

There is a fair amount of Public, but you will look for it.  Some landowners will let you hunt.
Is this tag for muley and whitetail or just muley?
You will hunt hard, damn hard, in this unit to kill a 150" buck.
I am not trying to discourage just letting you know.  You will have a good hunt, period.
If you aint hunting, you aint livin'

The rules and regulations don't specify mule deer or white-tail just "any buck" so I will have to look into that. I would guess it is both. I would be happy with a 150" buck, but my standards aren't high at this point. I just want to have a fun hunt and get a deer i am happy with, maybe a nice 2 pt. With only 20 permits given out I shouldn't see any hunters out there.   With that being said I will definitely try to do my best!

I muzzy hunted this unit for a few years long ago. Saw some giants and missed a 160'' monster. Shot over his back. :bash: Good luck, start collecting hunting by permission only phone numbers. I always had a hard time getting anyone to answer the darn phone down there.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

if your just in it for a meat hunt wait until the late hunt down there. it is a longer hunt than than your tag and a lot more deer migrating out of the blues.  I would say you would have a way better chance of harvesting a nice buck then.   On average you will see 300-500 deer a day down there.  I believe it is nov. 20-30.  If you don't find a buck it is antlerless also for whitetail or mulies.

I have also had a hard time getting any answers to hunt by written permission. And if i leave a message there is pretty much no chance at getting a reply. Oh well, I am hoping to do some door knocking in the next few months. I have inlaws that live down in kennewick so it will give my son and I a good excuse to get out of the house. :chuckle: Is it worth hitting esquatel, Bailee or windmill wildlife areas?
