Alta Quality Buck Tag
« on: June 18, 2011, 07:06:13 AM »
I drew the Alta buck muzzy. tag, it starts nov 25, I plan on hunting the entire 5 days, any thoughts were the big migrators hang out, my plan is to hunt in the twisp area.

Good tag to have, but start praying for snow now. The more snow the lower they will be. The less snow, the higher. Lots of country for them to roam
It's not the size of the trophy that make's it a trophy.

I know snow totals will determine how high I will have to hunt, hope we get dumped on this year, its just going to be a blast to be able to hunt deer in the rut, its been way to long

I also drew the tag. Gonna be there two days before the season till the 31st. Have 5 camping reservations at Pearrygin Lake this summer with the wife so I will be taking a few trips up into that area to get familiar with the layout ,roads ect. Also know a few people that live there so I'll see what I can do with that. We'll keep in touch and compare notes should be a great hunt.

Pray for snow and hope it stays of they will move back up. You should be in for a good hunt if the snow brings those mossy horns off of those Granite peaks and holes. Have been putting in for the Alta for years but I have hunted the area since I was a youngster. You should have a good time, Congrats and get a nice one!!

Sounds good , I have 2 local landowners friends that know the area also, my boy has hunted the property for the last 7 years, I have been an avid archer for the last 15 or so years , and decided to cash in on my points, its going to be a blast.
