For you fly guys
« on: June 22, 2011, 10:09:25 PM »
I picked up some flies from a yard sale this past weekend.  There are quite a few hula poppers which have no skirts left because of sitting.  I haven't fly fished for probably 10 years but I figure I should probably get back into it.  Not sure the age but I have full size hula poppers that were given to me by my father.  They were all wadded up in the bottom of a tackle box.  Figure not bad for $1.50.

Of course, the story from the over retirement aged woman was they were her fathers.  :dunno: Either way, I miss crappie/bass fishing with a fly rod.

I love using the mouse flies for browns.  Cast them out at the edge of a cutout bank along a bank and ever so subtly twitch it... I love how hard they'll hit that fly.  My best luck has been right before dark.

Also works well for bass.

Good haul. I'm glad that you got them and you can use them.

Sweet haul ! Why is it that whenever I go to a yard sale all I find is baby clothes, old exercise stuff , and some crappy skis. If my wife goes without me she always tells me about the fishing and hunting stuff she saw. :bash:

Those Grasshoppers will be deadly, too.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
