As much as I hate to type this...don't forget Tikka.  I have a T-3 lite and it's an amazing rifle right out of the box.

I love my Browning's, and you can pick up an A-Bolt for pretty cheap on Gunbroker now that the X-Bolts are out.  For an X-Bolt Hunter new you are looking around $675, a new A-Bolt should run right around $550.  If you wait and find a great deal, you can get one for much less.  I just purchased a brand new A-Bolt in .243 off Gunbroker and it shoots 5/16" at 100 yards.  Brownings come free floated and bedded from the factory.  They also have a removeable clip, which the ADL and BDL do not.  For my money, a Browning is my first choice.

Take a look at guns america.com you can look up any model rifle you could want and a lot have real good scopes on them already. I bought 3 this summer from them and it;s a 3 day delivery to your gun dealer. You can click on wby;savage;rem;tika and they will show you all the guns in that line prices are good with the economy.

Hey Guys,
I am looking for a win 300 mag and have seen tons of used rifles with great prices on them at East county guns and at Cabela's. I was just looking for some opinions on stock rifles, which ones you guys think are the best for the money straight off of the rack. I plan on putting a nice leupold or nikon scope on it and hopefully it shoots well without having to mess with it to much, and
of course I want it to be on a composite stock. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Fly

You can get a new one from these guys for as much as a used one from Cabelas. Stay away from Cabelas, too expensive.

Nothing new to add, but my hat goes in the A-Bolt pile, but the older model 70's also get my attention (mid 1970's to the 80's). And the rem 700's are good guns also... Heck buy a few and sell the ones you dont like.. :chuckle:

I don't think you can go wrong with the choices mentioned. I have shot them all in 300 win mag expect the A or X bolt.

My choice would be the Tikka.

After thinking about this some more, you should get a 7mm rem mag.... :chuckle:

not sure of your price range but you can get a savage 111 with scope (cheap but serviceable bushnell) and removable magazine for $429 at Cabelas.

These are some of the best shooting rifles out of the box that you can get.
