Factory load or handloads?
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

For as big as they are moose go down reasonably easy.  Elk will take one heck of a lot more than most moose.  I'd say if you have a 160 - 175 grain round you like for elk you're good to go.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I'd probably run a 160 grain bullet (Hornady, Nosler, Sierra, whatever shoots good in the gun.) , but I wouldn't be a bit worried running a 140 gr. Accubond, Partition or TSX either.

Whatever you use, make sure it isn't a Remington Cor-lokt.  There was a member on here that shot a moose in the back of the neck with a 175 gr Cor-lokt and it didn't penetrate enough to knock down the moose.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Assuming it's not a new to you gun, why not shoot what it's already sighted in for?
140, 165, 175 doesn't really make that much difference.  It's more about placement than weight anyways.

I'd just grab my Nosler 175's and call it done.

The 7mag has been with me for years it loves 150gr rem psp core lokts which have worked great on deer and elk in the past.I just was not sure about them for moose. Not set up to hand load.

150 grain core lokt?   :yike:    No! Anything but that. I'd go with a Barnes TSX, weight doesn't really matter but I'd try 160 to start. Something like a Nosler Partition or Accubond would work well too, but in those I'd go with the 175.

I'd run a 160-175gr accubond in that bad boy if I was gonna use it on Moose.

Below are several loaded cartridges that should be worth a look.  If I were you I'd probably go over to Bob's and see if they have any of the loads below.  (All of them are better than Cor-Lokts in my opinion)

Here's a 150gr bullet that will work: Barnes 150gr

These may be worth a look too:  Double Tap

150gr E-Tip Link

175 gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claw

Here is a link for the 160 gr Accubond

I don't know much about the Hornady SST bullet, but maybe someone that has tried them has an opinion.  The 162 gr might be worth a look but I think the other options listed above would be better...... ??? Hornady (It is the least expensive of the options I listed).
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

I'm the guy who shot his Washington moose at 37yds in the back of the neck w/a 7mm Rem. Mag. 175 REM. Core-lock. I thought I missed, he just ran off, I put two more in him quartering away. He made it another 200yds, never did find those bullets, but found some copper in the t-loins on the side they went in. I found the neck shot bullet between two vertebra. Perfect mushroom but it didn't penetrate the bone, opened up right away and didn't have the wt to drive it home. I shot my elk last year w/a Nosler Accubond 160 gr. Chest shot face on, he went about 30yds and went down.
BTW, I've shot core-locks for 27 years, but I wouldn't use them on moose.
Here's the core-lock 175gr from my moose's neck

Here's the 160gr Nosler Accubond from my elk
