Fresh Herring Cost
« on: July 03, 2011, 08:49:15 AM »
I just called down to the Hungry Whale in Westport to check on the price of their fresh herring so that I can budget bait money for this coming week end..I liked to of had 6 heart attacks, 17 strokes, and done some thing in my drawers that made the maid quit  :yike: They want $6.49 a doz.  :yike: Looks like my next call will be to Point Defiance Boat House..

I think I smell a gold mine coming

I think PD gets about $4.25/doz. When I fished on a herring boat, it was really cheap :chuckle: Actually got sick of seeing herring.

We were paying 5.75 there and I thought that was high there gas is still 3.99 a gallon. I think frozen will work just fine Tony a little rock salt and a handful of powdered milk and your set. The powdered milk really makes the bait shine.

We might have to use crab legs unless Erin is coming.
