we always nailed em on plug cut herring and a 6 oz banana weight.... acctually, ive nailed almost everything on plug cut herring.....  just drop it to the bottom and jig/mooch it...  just stock up on leaders cuz you lose alot of em out there. either that or a 4-6oz cod jig... white, purple, motor-oil and rootbeer colors always work, make sure your jig rubber has alot of frilly stuff on it.

snagging jigs gets spendy, losing a 60 cent cheap salmon leader is no big deal
catch it. kill it. cook it. eat it.
Forget the bear spray, use wasp killer. Concentrated delivery stream, 10X the product, and only $3.00 on sale.

I smoke two fish in the morning, I smoke two fish at night, I smoke two fish in de afternoon makes me feel alright

Go west. Sekui has been hit hard over the years. Your better off up at Neah. Its very hard to catch a legal Ling at Sekui anymore. And the rock fish limits are down. Better limits and better fishing west.

Use weedless hooks, will save you a lot of gear and frustration.

Mussolini point used to have very tight restrictions on limits. I would be sure to check that out.
