Rufus on the bank
« on: July 07, 2011, 05:16:58 PM »
I have been doing alot of reading about how "hot Rufus Woods" is recently. I know not everyone who fishes this place has a boat, and am seeking advice regarding shore fishing  - where to start when I go out and give it a shot in a coupla weekends. I do already have some ideas, but being that it is such a large area, I am hoping to connect with folks who know it well enough, maybe even meet up and talk story. I am leaning towards the weekend of 7/15 - 7/18. It will probably only be for the day as we'll want to either push thru to Tonasket, or be on our way back home.

If anyone can point me in a good direction or wants to hook up that weekend and do some fishin', I'd be stoked for it. Shoot me a PM if you'll be in the area or just respond here with direction, stories, tips etc.

Thanks.

I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with "Guess" on it...so I said "Implants?"

Sorry Glen, I've never fished it from shore. I do know that there is access on the Colville Res. I saw a lot of people fishing it from shore there and catching fish. If I had the time I'd go back over for a quick trip and hook up with you.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Hey thanks guys.

Chongo thanks for the very cool link! Yer gonna have some time soon brother. Who knows? Maybe you and me will head over for a trip and walk some shoreline this summer, stay a night or two. I'd be happy to drive if we can swing a convenient time to go - if schedules permit.

No worries Mark! We'll hook up one of these days. Lemme know when ya have some time and some room. I'm good for contributing to the cause. It don't have to be rufus or sturgeon either. Whatever's happening, I seem to find myself interested in.... :)

And, if anyone wants to meet up, lemme know. I'm still hopin' to get out there the weekend after this.

Brants landing is a good spot. Its about 5 miles up on the non rez side.  Picnic tables, fire pits and you can drive right to it.  I know how to get there but couldnt tell you the roads exactly. Its pretty well known so getting directions shouldnt be hard.
