I joined the forum back in 2012, but haven't been active on the forum until recently.

I'll have to dig through some pictures to find them, but I have pics of wolf tracks in GMU346 just above Sand Creek from the 2012 modern firearm elk hunting season.  We weren't packing cell phones in the woods like we do now.  So it was taken with a digital camera, and downloaded onto my old laptop.  3 sets of wolf tracks after a fresh snowfall during the evening before opening morning.  Every animal track on opening morning was fresh in the new fallen snow.  My hunting partner and I were barely a half mile out of camp when we cut elk tracks.  Then we noticed 3 sets of wolf tracks following the elk tracks.

We now see tracks and wolf sign up there almost every year.  The 2018 season we heard them howling one evening from the direction of Fife's ridge as well.

Just saw two large wolves on I5 northbound at exit 60 in the Toledo area at 130 am on 9/25/20.  This would be gmu 505.

One was the traditional gray color the other was solid black.

I was driving a semi truck southbound when I saw what I first thought were a couple deer walking underneath the highway lights right at exit 60 northbound.  I got closer and saw they were actually two very large wolves trotting out into the highway.  I slowed way down to be sure because I hardly believed what I was seeing.  They had walked mostly out into the north lanes when they saw some incoming traffic and started headed back off the freeway to the east.

Dawg and I made a run looking for a road cheecken for her. Found what was left of a range cow. Not much left but the ribs and back bone.  Hooves and the hide were still there.  Got back to the house and called the rancher who runs the range.  Told him where to find the remains. 

This is in the wedge pack range.  And wdfw informed us that they have removed all of the culprits.

He said that he believes what the wdfw says just as long as their lips aren't moving.

Drove past the crime scene and apparently forensics was there.  Most of the remnants had been removed. Except the hide. Did not see any crime tape. 😏

Saw one Saturday about 9:30 PM. Foot on the fog line of HWY 20 between Mazama and Winthrop, just down valley from the bridge. Big white one.

Well, since wdfw has removed all the culprits, it must be just big coyotes ... right???

This last week while looking for a mule deer or should be called unicorns. Ran across a fresh cow poo that was still mushy green that had not skimmed yet.  In the middle of it was a huge dog print.  Just over the hill from where they were flying the choppers this summer. 
Not sure I am fully convinced that they are telling the truth.
Ran into the cowboys rounding up range stock in ferry County and asked about mulies. His response was to go gut a wolf and you can find a mulie.
