2nd week in new spot
« on: July 11, 2011, 12:01:19 PM »
 Good activity this last week.  Stomped down the weeds in front of the cam, so critters will be more visible.  Expected more night activity, but this seems to be an early AM, late PM spot.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Edit;  Rats!  Nothing's working for me today.  Still the wrong pics!

What is up with the back of that one bucks ear. If ya look close there is two round circles. Any ideas?

To me it just looks like the sunlight shining through the trees/leaves.

Yeah, I notice it now--the big circle is in the shade, and the small one is in the sun, so they look real.  Maybe took a hit of buckshot?
The one he's looking at is a bigger buck antler-wise than he is!  now I'm anxious to see what the cam gets next week.

Just curious if the camera is set up near a water source? The ground behind it looks pretty dry while the closer stuff looks nice and green

Yes, the camera is set on a trail that crosses a spring-fed little stream.  The green weeds in the foreground are nettles.  You don't get far away from the water and things are drying out fast.  Soon that will be the only water for a long ways each way, and it will be a real popular spot.

Ya they look to be like open sores. Definitely a difference in his hair lines on the ears.

Even the side of his face that's visible in the picture looks a bit scarred too.  Maybe he just got in a good fight last rut.  Might also be Cougar damage, too.
