Recommendations on powder and bullets for muzzleloader

Looking for recommendations on powder and bullets.  I drew a multiseason deer tag and just purchased a Rem 700 50 cal muzzleloader from a friend.  I am a first time muzzleload hunter and looking for some suggestions on powder and bullets that may perform well in this gun.

Pyrodex loose and any bullet besides hornady SST!

I'm shooting 290gr barnes spitfire with 2 50 grain pyrodex pellets out of a knight big horn. I'm shooting 2 inch groups at 100 yards.

 my gun likes 90 gr of pyrodex and a 250 g Thomson Center maxiball.. I shoot a side lock TC Grey Hawk

Two 50gr equivalent 777 pellets and a 300gr hornady SST.  I have great luck with accuracy.  And the SST is a stone cold killer.  Anything will die if u put a 50 caliber hole in the heart or lungs.  Goodluck have a great season.

Tmz over pellets for a beginner is a great combo. I like loose.better 100gr should do the trick.

I would stay away from the pellets.  I used them for a long time and liked them for a while but they are not made for guns that are legal in wa.  The pellets are made for the 209 ignition.  Yes they are easier to use but I no longer use them after 8 years.  Switched to 777 3f.  The barnes tmz's are killing machines 290 grain.  Just switched over to them here recently after rave  from just about every one on this site.  They shoot a great group.  Deffenetly not as good as the hornaday sst's.  But they perform way better when it comes to expansion and staying together.  Stay away from powerbelts.  This is my

buddy of mine shot a bull in 09 with a 300 grain SST at 25 yards.  hard quartering to shot that went in the shoulder and lodged in the hind quarter on the opposite side.  No expansion at all, hell the red polymer tip was still on it!  I threw my sst's in the trash the next day.  Any bullet that won't open in that scenario is bad news.  Yes they are accurate but performance is definitely lacking.  I am a die hard Hornady fan and shoot them in every single one of my rifles from 22mag to 300 win mag but the muzzy I will pass on.

I tried 8 diffrerent bullets for my Black Diamond..the best of this particular gun was the Barnes 300gr with 90 gr of triple 7

this is my first year too. my family has been shooting for many years. the pellets wernt as cansistant as the jim shocky sticks with a little tap to break them up. went 18 shots without cleaning my barrel. still had a good group at 100 yards. i normaly wouldnt go that long but wanted to see how dirty it got. not bad considering the amount of shots. and i also shoot the 300grn sst. awesome!

I didn't know barnes made a 300g? I know they make a 250g and 290g.
