Never done the sockeye fishery at baker before, but was considering it. Is there a lot of trailer parking?

I think that there are a total of 107 spots from the dam to Swift Creek and more at Shannon Creek, which are only open to registered campers this year. At the Holiday Sports Sockeye class, it was stressed that there will be heavy ticketing of rig/trailers parked on roads when the lot gets full.

They had a huge oil spill in the lake and there was a massive die-off. All the fish are gone. But I'm already going so I'll just cruise around and maybe scoop up some oil for my saw and such.

cause we can't share the same frickin space with the native netters and we suppose to buy our sockeye at the supermarket first. Them cluster censer-ed fisheries are a joke but atleast they're great revenue makers for the state!!  :chuckle:  :dunno:

hope it's open long enough to go one day during the week

K I am heading on tuesday and Wednesday out to baker lake. Any ideas on what will be used and what part of the lake will be the best part to fish.  Also my buddy has a pontoon boat and is curious about how he would do out there with it??

Don't forget to buy your Discover Pass.  There might be a few tickets handed out.

Just to clarify, Baker Lake is within a National Rec Area not a Nat Park.  Yeah, kinda splitting hairs, I know.

I dont think the discover pass covers National forest or rec lands, just STATE parks, rec and DNR lands.  :dunno: might need a different pass to cover the National stuff  :bash:  :dunno:
