« on: July 31, 2011, 09:27:52 AM »
Gotta love a couple of fatties in the morning :chuckle:

One filled with Apple Pie, and one filled with Artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and cheddar.

I used 2 Hostess apple pies crushed up for the filling. I was worried that it would be too sweet. But the sausage soaks up alot.
In the end it tasted like sausage with apple slices in it. Tastes AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Smoked for an hour and a half at 230 degrees. To an internal temp of 170.
I smoked these over apple wood. But
Hickory is good too.

1 pound of pork sausage. Put in a one gallon ziplock bag. Press flat, it will make a perfect square 1/4" thick.
Cut the bag open down the seams, and open it up. Fill with what ever you like. Use the opened up ziplock to roll it. Press together to close it up.
Smoke @ 230 degrees until the center reaches 170 degrees. Slice and enjoy.

This was the first time I had tried Artichoke hearts with pork sausage. Killer combo!!!!!!!!
