i have owned both a 76 factory high boy, best truck in the world with the 390, but after 13 yrs had to let her go  :'(, couldnt afford to drive her anymore, since then it has been toyota, had the tacoma and now that the kids are bigger than dad i had to get the new 4 door tundra, i can haul, tow and i still get 18 miles per gallon on her 5.7 L V-8 ASS, and i am sorry to say but it just seems toyotas life span just kicks ass, my wife has the rav 4 and i have never seen a rig that does so well in the snow and when it comes to transporting the kids around i want my family in a reliable rig, and to those who think people that drive toyotas are un- american, well i can assure you that you are as wrong as wrong can get, i have been out of the service for along time now, but i would drop everything i know and love to defend THE STARS AND STRIPES, i promise you that..

D: None of the above.

I second!  But if it was walk home 1000 miles away or pick one of the above?  I'd take the Ford.

I'd rather walk. :chuckle:

I own toyota's as well as work as a tech for toyota and my opinion is  toyota BUT for every other reason other than pulling/ towing

There is no denying toyotas are definitely great off road rigs even out of the box. There is nothing like cruising the hills in a toyota pick up and not having to fill up before heading home at the end of the day. Their resale value also far surpasses that of any ford or gm rig. there is a reason why tacomas hold their value so well and ask any tacoma owner and they will tell you why.

As for the "tree hugger" prius. It is extremely hard for anyone to not hate filling up at the pump. I rented a prius from work to drive to monroe from vancouver one time when gas was approaching the $4.50 mark a few years back. It got me over 400 mile on less than 10 gallons and only cost me $40 to fill with premium. Let me know when their is  a american car that has been capable of this for almost the passed decade??? Regardless of being marked as a tree hugger car, its purpose is a daily econo commuter and the battery cell it gets a bad rap for gets disposed of properly and doesnt even compare to the amount of batteries we throw away in the garbage or raw pollutants that some redneck hill billy's poorly running diesel spits out into the air directly harming the ozone right above you or as you drive right behind it.

So in to sum it up toyota has it in all markets ....economic value, resale, purchase price, off road ability BUT they sure as hell LACK in the TOWING/ PULLING power. And that is why I have a DODGE truck! Now if only they would bring their diesels from overseas/ canada .... one day :'(

How is this even a POLL!!! If you voted for anything other than ford, please pack up your *censored* and board the next plane for the land of the yellow-man. Yeah Fords might not be made or manufactured in the US but the company is still US owned. Poll closed

Let's see in the past ten years how many people has Ford laid off? How many jobs has Toyota created in the US?

What type of bio-fuel are you referring to?  CNG, flex, corn...

WOW, i have to go with clockum on this one. one thing i would like to see from all mfg's is going back to a simpler model. enough with all the computer operated crap, heated seats, memory for different drivers, ect.. it goes on & on. the trucks i like the most are the simple ones, less costly to mfg ,operate & have less maintenance problems. guess im old school but if toyota (or any of the others) would come out with a model like my 91 toy basic model i might buy one. PS my other truck is a 76 GMC ive had since 82. ( 3 mo's, 2 trans, 1 transfer case) sorry ford dudes. especially in these times i think all vehicles could be a little simpler & more fuel efficient. i dont need all that extra crap & i think sales would go up if they made a more basic model.
