Deer you know by name.

So we have nicknames for some of the recognizeable deer on the property.  One we ID'ed last year we named him Tall Boy since he had a very tall rack compared to the others around.

Here are pics from last year, velvet (8/4) and hard-horned 8/27).



And, this year, from a couple days ago.  He looks like he might adtually pull a third point out on his left antler this year.

So, this year, Weathergirl is getting geared up to try to put him in the freezer.  He vanished after the archery season last year.

Yep his name is Stacy's deer!!!!  My husband, calls it Dave's - for obvious reasons but since he is on the trail cam in front of "my" tree stand, he's mine this year

I have yet to make it back to check my cams......sept. maybe.  Nothing wrong with those island deer, they look good. The offer still goes for this year lokidog. If you don't tag out by the late whitetail M.F. season your welcome to come on over and find a whitetail to tag.

I know a lot of my late season bucks and name a lot of them. Most of the deer move around a lot here, so unrolled the late hunt they are just another deer we may only see once.

Here is a blacktail that my kids named "Barney" because we would always catch him sneaking around behind my barn.  My kids bought me a trail cam just to take pics of him.  My wife tried her hardest to get me to shove an arrow through him but where's the fun in shooting a buck out of the back yard?

Nice buck pic too!  It is a lot easier to think of whacking them when they get in the garden or eat the ornamentals.  Had a doe last spring that would get up on the deck and walk into the greenhouse attached to the house and mow the starts.

Loki I think i would name him Dinner! I have a friend tha raise mini angus and he names all his cows different cuts of beef. Sirloin, T bone, Chuck, etc...

Nice pix posted!  I guess I should have said I hope he's mine this year.  I haven't seen him this year but then again he's been pretty elusive up until October every year.  Hopefully he survived last season and if not then someone got a gorgeous head mount!!!  My daughter gets to hunt this year, if she passes hunter safety next week, so maybe she'll tag him...that would be a great first kill!
