I'm not even sure why all the Hoyt guys get picked on.

We're winning this thing?  That's good news.

I don't know what you call winning.   :) It seems that if a guy chimes in on here asking whats the best bow? Then everyone tells that guy to go shoot 15 different kinds of bows and see what one he likes best. Whichever one he likes best is the one he should buy. So what if I don't like a Matthews? Is it 1 T or 2?  They look like waffles.

Is it like a Chevy/Ford/Dodge thing?

yup just shows that the majority of people smart :IBCOOL:
Bloodhound, aren't you on my team in the Hoyt camp?

Maybe for some guys.  I actually like a lot of bows, including Hoyt, Bowtech and PSEs.  But it's more fun to flip the Hoyt guys crap and some of the responses are super funny.  I've been laughing all the way through this thread.

Hoyt, because i got it on the warranty from my Reflex delaminating. After the way they took care of me, I'll be a Hoyt shooter for a long, long time. I also will continue to have my bow serviced with Archery World , Vancouver, WA. They're the ones who sent my Reflex in on a rush and got me my new bow. Great shop!

I was just wondering who you were, thats all. I wasn't sure if I should know or not. I am not a long time archer, nor am I familiar with the business. I'm not even sure why all the Hoyt guys get picked on. MY Hoyt shoots pretty ok and I haven't compared it to enough other bows to know if it's even heavy or not.
I need a new peep...got a link?
Now I have to go google and figure out who Duke Savora is.

I wouldn't expect anyone who didn't read Western Bowhunter in the Eighties or early Nineties to know.  Or that hunted bear heavily in Oregon throughout the 80s.  It was all a long time ago and archery (especially bowhunting) is very much a "What have you done lately" thing.  A lot of people have done a lot more impressive things than me lately.  Many on this forum.

As far as "Duke" Savora?  Duke was from the Seattle area and was the first to successfully use a razorblade in broadhead design.  Easton said at one time that without the Savora one piece ferrule the aluminum arrow might never achieved popularity.  Duke also was the inventor of the anodized camo aluminum arrow.  This too led to the amazing rise in popularity of the Easton shafts.

When it came to hunting Duke was a leader in that field as well.  When Alberta decided that archers could not effectively take animal such as sheep and made it illegal the NRA and Duke came to the rescue.  His ram was not only the first ever killed by a non-native archer, but the speed in which it expired shocked all those that viewed the film and bowhunting was reinstated.

After finding out that Fred Bear and others had used the POD in Africa while bowhunting the government of Rhodesia listed bowhunting as "Poaching" which is a punishment of death.  The "Chapinda Pools" testing was conducted with the Rhodesian government, government Ranger D. Van Eyssen and Duke Savora.   Regardless of what the self promoting dentist says of late this was the first test of its kind in Africa.  Blood trails were measured for length, animals were autopsied, and time on the hoof was taken.  At the conclusion the government concluded, "Bow hunting will rekindle the true spirit of HUNTING in Africa which seems to have taken second place to 'Make the Book', 'Rowland Ward". etc. etc., bigger scopes and more powerful guns."  Bowhunting was re-instituted as a legal means of hunting with no restrictions on species to be hunted.

Guess that is enough off topic conversation.  Time to get more of those Cameron Hanes wannabes wanting to kick my .....!  I'm really surprised they can actually take a joke.  The ones around here would have my butt for sure!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

That's interesting as hell, RadSav.  Maybe you should make a separate thread about that.  Really cool stuff.

Ok, back on topic:  Hoyts suck.

I wish I knew the right way to jab a Mathews guy...anyone?

Thanks Radsav...cool stuff. I didn't even live out west in the 80's or 90's.
I still need a new peep...what's your company?

With a right cross..... LOL  Just kidding, all the companies these days make good bows.  Even Mathews has decided the "Solo" cam would not work for the most part and came out with fast bows.... All the btop companies seem set to "Follow" each other, and Mathews is trying to "catch up".... Did I slam their logo's enough?  For those of you looking to break away from the pack.... check out some of the upcoming innovative companies out there (Maitland)... or you can wait a few years and the big companies will copy them.... but by then Rob Maitland will have done more engineering to stay ahead of the others...   Really just kidding so all you fanboys relax... I have a hoyt.... My kids shoot the Bowtech line.... just that MAthews is like Jane Fonda in my house.... "NOT ALLOWED"!   :chuckle:

You have to have a little compassion for those Mathews guys.  They are so smooth and slow they don't seem to get the jokes and they definitely can't get out of the way when the crap starts flying.  Most just get their feeling hurt  :ACRY:

Sounds like my father when I told him I was going to start bowhunting.  I remember him saying, "Why do you want to spend so much money on that bow when you're never going to kill anything with it?"  He thought it was advise.  I took it as motivation.  Should have seen the look on his face when he saw my arrow go whizzing through my first elks chest.  That was a Bear back then too!

All i know is that it is easier chasing down and looking for arrows then looking for gun powder and lead after a shot

i just want to re up the fact that when i posted this it is just supposed to be fun. i think i speak for all when i say everyone has there own personal preference on bows but this is just a fun way of giving each other crap when in the end it doesn't matter what brand you shoot as long as you like it and it gets the job done! even though we all know that Hoyt is the best!
