Nikon FieldScope III ED 20-60x60
« on: August 05, 2011, 08:36:39 AM »
After searching for the right one, I finally pulled the trigger and bought me a spotting scope. I can't wait to use it, I bought the padded scope case for it also. Now I just need to pick up a tri-pod, any recommendations?

I picked up the Vortex High Country Tri-pod, not the greatest but it's light 2.1lbs. and only $79.
So between the Spotter and tri-pod Im only packing 70oz, not to bad.

Good photo

I have the Fieldscope 82. It seems as though the heavier the scope the more sturdy tripod you need  :bash:

yeah I wouldn't buy the high Country tri-pod for anything much more than three pounds. Says its rated for five pounds.
