Yakima River Springers
« on: June 16, 2008, 12:22:16 PM »
since they've opened it through the end of the month I'm going to hit my home river hard.  Saturday we had probably 15-20 take down's with I'd say 10 fish on lost a couple released a couple and brought home 4-5 nice one's.  Caught several small ones also.  Bitting all day long in spurts, stop in one spot switch to another of try different bait.  Eggs are working ok.  Herring is my preference.
Work sucks!!!! I should be shed hunting

Nice fish, it looks like you guys are fishing the stretch above the West Richland bridge take-out? That is a neat stretch of water.

i run a big brads diver, and a 4-5 foot leader w/ a bead chain in the center.  1, 2ot hook barbless, and 2-3 inch's up tie a second hook in line and snap it off just before the bend in the shank.  use the bait loop on the broke off top hook around the herring's head a pull snug not to tight, then stretchy string the head to main line slightly.  back it down into there face and they will not be able to take it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any river.................

I don't think he's fishing a low as West Richland in those pics.  Looks a lot more like the upper stretch that's open.

Good to see somebody putting a hurt on them!
hey, where's Professor Chaos? Anyone seen him?
