I was thinking since money is tight this year I might just get myself a decent poncho. they pack light and offer decent protection. Anybody know a decent/durable poncho out on the market. I know they are "noisy" but so are the woods when it rains!

check out frogg toggs. I'm not sure if they make Poncho's but there rain gear is pretty good and cheap. Used to be able to find them at Walmart but I haven't seen them there for a while.

I see on Cabela's that the Frogg Toggs have horrible reviews. Do you use them?

Check out the Marmot Precip jacket and pants on www.sierratradingpost.com, then search around for a coupon and you'll find you can get the whole set-up fairly cheap.

Both me and my dad have been using them for the past few years. Never had any problems with them yet
