Helz, a word of advice on bleeding those buggers....

I use a large rope stringer, the kind with a metal ring on one end and a spike on the other.  After landing, thump the fish and immediately stick the fish on the stringer, you can add multiples for multiple hookups, and tie to a cleat or something on the boat.  While the fish is hanging off the side of the boat, reach your filet knife up along the gill plate, turn the knife and slice down.  Do this on both sides.  Drag the fish until done bleeding, voila, cleaner deck and cleaner cooler.

I usually drop my gear back in before taking the time to slice and dice.

Congrats on the fish!

Make sure you mark them before fishing again. We had an undercover on Youngs Bar last weekend, he said that was his target, fishing before marking.
I just put them on the stringer and cut the gills, no bomking, they bleed faster that way.

no bonking, they bleed faster that way.

I get too many fish that don't bleed out if I bonk them, just chuck em in the cooler, mark your card, drop your gear and by then they will have settled down a bit so you can cut them easily and let them bleed out on the ice.

Good job on bloodying the boat the first time!

The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

haha we went out last night and it was ROUGH!!! my boats a 12' aluminum lol so we decided to call it and play some pool at the yardarm and slay a few brews instead..

we just gill them, throw them in the cooler, let 'em flop around, mark our cards and keep fishing. easier that way for us... i wish the weather would just cooperate for another go!
