Ok i have a stevens 325-c 30/30 with a birch stock. I was thinking I would like a darker cherry wood colored. Can i sand down the stock and stain it with off the shelf stuff?

If you take your time and finish with a good clear coat you can make it look a lot nicer than the factory finish.

I did one side last night, checked on it this morning, looks sweet! 10x better than the original
