no bonking, they bleed faster that way.

I get too many fish that don't bleed out if I bonk them, just chuck em in the cooler, mark your card, drop your gear and by then they will have settled down a bit so you can cut them easily and let them bleed out on the ice.

Good job on bloodying the boat the first time!

I have not had a single bonked fish not bleed.     I don't crush their skulls to a pulp though as I just want them immobilized to get out of the net and on the stringer w/o making a mess.

The one you bonked of mine was bloody as hell when I filleted it.
