ELK talk
« on: August 19, 2011, 03:04:14 PM »
Was down early morning in a top secret area of the Willipa Hills and herd a few Chuckles and a bugle in a few different spots. Any of the Bulls got their Libido setting in yet in your areas?? :chuckle:

Damnit  :bash:

I wish I lived closer to my hunting spot.  200 miles round trip isn't as simple or cheap as it used to be

Buddy had a couple respond in the Wenaha area last week.  I agree about the price of diesel.  Should be able to go out when you want, but have to go out when you can afford it.

The bulls are starting slowly (it seems), but I think they're ahead of 2 years ago.  I couldn't buy a bugle that year; last year wasn't much better: early bugles all over, but not much through September.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Haven't heard any in RimRock yet.  Based on my trail cam pics, many of the Bulls still in velvet.  Saw a few buck rubs last weekend.  But, no significant elk rubs yet.  Seem a little late on the eastside.
