Scent control with smoke!?
« on: August 19, 2011, 08:16:09 PM »
Was reading the Bowhunting world  magazine extreme 2011 and this guy named mike Rex has killed 20 p&y whitetails and uses something called a scent smoker to kill his scent!? He just uses wood smoke. Anyone ever do/ hear of this?  Does it work? Thoughts? Pg 74 for anyone with the magazine.

Haven't tried it but it makes sense. Deer smell smoke all the time. Might try it.  :dunno:

"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

Next thing you know they will be selling smoke in a bottle.
There is liquid smoke, i wonder if you drink it will it mask your farts?   :chuckle:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I don't know about deer, but I remember reading something about bears not liking the smell of smoke, especially the smell of tobacco smoke :dunno:

I have a hard time getting up the nerve to try it, but I also don't have 20 p&y records either
