I drove out there a while back and it sure didn't look open anymore.  Might give him a call to be sure.  The good news is season will be starting soon!

i'll give him a call and report back.  any other places to get the pup on some birds that won't require a membership (like cooke canyon)?  i just don't want to spend the extra $80 or whatever.  i have hunted in the past there and it was great.

thanks,
willy

Awesome, that's good to know.

Let us know how it goes, I'm glad there's some training birds in Whatcom county!

update.  took my dog and a friend and his dog who's never hunted him before.  Jim put out about 9 birds for us.  we and the dogs had a great time.  the birds were a bit on the young side, but good flyers.  Jim helped us with the dogs and was a great host.  the fields were good with a mix of cover.  ended up finding all but one bird.  it was very warm and the dogs had had it by then.  overall a good experience.  i'd recommend it for getting your dog on birds as a warmup prior to the season.

sorry, haven't been here much lately.  he's got a minimum of $150, which I think will get you 4 roosters or 6 chukar (don't quote me, Jim gave us a slightly different package, as the birds were a bit young yet)  He's located on standard road in deming, just about 20 miles north of sedro-woolley:

Anybody know if he will just sell the birds and let you take them? I have about 30 at my house that I can train my dogs on just need to get some birds to do it.

I've known Jim about 15 years, fact is his setter is a littermate to mine.I doubt he'd sell birds for off site use,he'd sell you the birds at the package price which is quite a bit more than you'd pay if you bought them from the farm.I know where he gets a good share of his birds and they are FLIERS,my buddy raises them in big pens.
