Good Luck, Charlie.  Kill a big one and take lots of pictures.  Most importantly have fun and everything will come together.

Tough to believe that only 2 guys a year get this oppurtunity.

Ok, I'll bite too.  What state or providence is this in.  Nothing more wanted, just didn't think we had any Sept 1 elk hunts in this state.  Thanks, wish I could afford to go out of state more often.  Been almost 13 years now since my last trip to Montana.  Life just gets in the way.
Washington state, westside archery permit, I think it's the only one with a 9/1 start date, so it shouldn't be hard to figure out where it is.

There's +/- 15 elk hunts in this state that start on 9/1 not counting the auction permits, raffle permits, incentive permits, etc. and apparently some that start in August although I haven't looked for them.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
