Does that report read 260 some odd wolves killed in Idaho?!  Last year!?!?!

Holy crap.  So much for all the talk of four breeding pairs, or small packs or whatever.  I had no idea the state was so over run.  Washington, here they come!

looks to me like those trappers are startn to get it figured out on how to trap those wolves, i hope they will part with their secrets when we have to start trapping them, getn one in a big ass live trap would be pretty cool though, i figure it wont be long until a tree hugger or a poliotician gets taken out by a wolf  :IBCOOL:, and then they will open it up for sportsman to save their sorry asses.

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. - Psalm 127:3-5

Holy cow, 290!

They're doing way better than I thought they would.

Any idea what a credible estimate of the Idaho wolf population is......   other than 290 less than it was.....?    :-)

Unfortunately it probably does not matter as the population will sky rocket again in just another month or two with all the new little ones  :bash: :bash:. Still it is nice to see so many tagged

I agree, in 2010 the Nez Perce tribe an the Fed's counted a minimum of 760 wolves (IDFG did not participate) but likely there were 1000 + wolves.

hunting /trapping remove 300 wolves, with birth rates at 20-30% Idaho will be back to 900-1000+ wolves by this fall.    :twocents:
