I am assuming that it is locked up. The message on the access hotline says that the tree farm is closed to all recreational access. And they did not say anything about the public access corridors being an exception, like they usually do.

Went up , but only as far as the 3000 and then on up to the mountain a week ago(blueberries were starting to get ripe at the top) All other gates off 4100 were closed, I assume it's closed at the bridge like it usually is until about late October/early NOvember.

Weyerhaeuser just updated their message today. And it says it is closed to all recreational access. Yesterday, the message was from August 30th, and said the tree farm was open for walk in hunting, and the public access corridors were open (the 4100 being one of them). Today's message says nothing about the public access corridors being open, so I assume they are not.

I hunted Tue the 6th at mudflow it was still open, but the hotline is not very clear on if  the access corridors are locked. I'll. Keep calling around until I find out or go after work tomorrow and find out the hard way.

I assume it is closed in the north end since the south end was like Winston Creek in the late season today.  But, without all the elk.  Rock Creek road is in need of a traffic light due to all the traffic today.  We saw two bulls opening morning before guys rushed in and spooked them.  One camp with six bull hunters have trucks parked at all burms and gates 24hrs a day.  They load into a van and get dropped off in the morning and afternoon at each vehicle to hunt.  Then they are picked up in the evening and taxi back to their camp.

So far the worst opening week of Toutle Elk season I have ever seen. Bulls still in velvet, no bugling except at 3 a.m. and then not much, hunters poping out of the brush like fleas on a rabbit.  The squaw and I are hiking in almost 7 miles and still having issues with other hunters.  Still no elk!

We are going to give it two more days and call it quits till the late season.  It's really bad out there.  However, it only takes one stupid bull before our attitude will change, I'm sure!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I've been here bull hunting Toutle since the opener.  Saw a herd with a nice five by, but cow busted out.  Passed on the same spike twice.  Not much moving.  Saw another cow and spike today.

It was open up around the 4250-2700 series as of Wed when I finished, hardly anyone up there at all, lots of log trucks though.
