anyone shoot opposite hand?

I was recently at a shop and test fired a LH diamond outlaw set around 63lbs but pulling it back was a bit of a chore and I could feel it in my shoulder (previous injury). I am left eye dominant but have been shooting my wifes right handed bow which is set at about 45lbs (though too light for me) and I seem to do fine from 20 and 30 yards, shooting decent groups (2-3").  Is there anyone out there that is LH but shoots RH and does it affect your performance/accuracy? My main concerns are 1) shoulder aggravation, 2) LH options on the used market (if I decide to go that route), and 3) accuracy.

There was a similar post on here about 6-8 months ago or so I believe.  I am left eye dominant but write, throw, bat, dribble a basket ball, and do most things right handed.  I shoot a shotgun and a bow LHed because it feels more natural and I seem to track targets better that way.  I shoot a rifle with either hand/eye and shoot high power rifle matches right handed.  I have shot my brother's right handed bow and I actually shoot it quite well.  Maybe even slightly better at stationary targets.  I think this has to do with increased focus and concentration on my part.  I probably wouldn't choose to hunt with a RH bow for the fact that LH fees more natural.  That being said, if I had a physical limitation or something that prevented me from shooting LH I would definately practice practice practice RH and go hunting.  I would shoot a lighter draw weight than the 63lbs and see how you feel and also develope the muscles used in drawing/shooting LH.  If you are really concerned about wearing out the LH shoulder, are sore, unstable, etc. with your LH then get a RH bow and practice a lot.

There is a member on here that was forced to because of his dominant eye giving up on him.  He switched and from the sounds of it is shooting really well.  He is very diligent in his practice though.  So I bet you will have to put a bunch of time in.  Retraining the brain on little things like nocking an arrow with the right hand when the pressure is on.

I am a mixed shooter...right handed left eye dominant shoot bow and long guns left but pistol right and trying to train myself to shoot both eyes open....I put a sticker on my shooting glasses for pistol shooting worked pretty good...don't know the answer have been told to just suck it up and shoot right problem is it feels insanely wrong and I am very right handed ... my parents were both leftys and my son is a lefty so I am well versed in doing stuff wrong......

I'm left eye dominant, learned to shoot right handed as a kid. I've shot rifle, bow and shotguns with both, but mainly stick to right handed.

I can do  left and right on pretty much anything. When I started to get in to archery I was very confused if I wanted lh or rh. But having a 31 inch draw lh equipment is limited so I went right handed

I am right handed and used to shoot both archery and rifle that way but since my left eye is dominant I switched all of my shooting to the left with no problem at all.  I throw like a uncoordinated girl left handed but switching my shooting hand was not the least bit of a problem.

I am Left Eye dominate but RH I shoot LH... I often shoot my Wifes RH alpine Micro RH. It uses a series of muscles that are different. If you went with a much lighter bow and or worked up the streght you could switch. You will not however beable to pick a bow up and start slamming arrow in the x.

I am right handed but left eye dominant. I've been shooting a LH bow for the last two years and feel alot more accurate then I ever was shooting right handed.

I am lefty with right eye dominant when I started archery.  I decided to go right hand and after awhile it's natural to me.  I can pull about 62# max only, but my setup is at 60#.

I'm in the left eye/right hand dominant category.  I shoot right handed, cast right handed, reel left handed.  I used to shoot my bow with my left eye closed, but after some advice about shooting with both eyes open I started practicing that way.  It was a bit awkward at first, but after a few months of dilligent practice I'm quite comfortable with it. 

I'm debating whether to pick up a lefty bow to test it out but haven't found one I want to drop the cash on.
