Best and worse buck attractants?
« on: September 17, 2011, 08:53:56 PM »
I'm looking at getting some buck attractants (buck juice, scrape scent, etc). Is there any that you recommend to get or to stay away from? What has or hasn't worked for you? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I don't use it for mulies or blacktail. I have only used it for whitetails. There is one that I swear by and it's.........ummm....I 'll remember when I see it. Getting control of the scent we give off is the most important. I always use scent control. I was never a believer in scent away but since using it I have had deer within feet and never realized I was there. Primetime...that's it.

Beer farts, brings them in every time!
I have arrowed a couple of mature whitetail bucks using Hunter's Specialty BucRut Scent Wafers.  One time I had one tied to my boot and when I got to my treestand I hung it from a small tree 35 yards away.  Within 20 minutes I had a 150" whitie with his nose stuck to it and an arrow ripping through his lungs.  I gave a can of them to my cousin and he has taken several nice whities using them.  That is about the only scent I have used and I don't even use them anymore.

Trophy rocks for mulies, and elk.  Apples for blacktail.

For mule deer in the rut I would say my cousin's wife.  ;)  She has been treed twice by mule deer bucks because she was "in season".  :chuckle: :chuckle:

We could say [Democrats] spend money like drunken Sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken Sailors. It would be unfair, because the Sailors are spending their own money.
