Our 1st Grouse trip of the season..
« on: October 01, 2011, 10:59:51 PM »
We took a nice little drive in the Mts today.

Saw what looked like a nice ridge top for Blue Grouse..

15 mins into hike we sent a nice big blue skyward.
2 shots later both clean misses from my over and under.

Excuses later and another 10 mins of hiking another blue.. 2 shots later, another zero.

My fault, was unable to hunt year besides to waterfowl hunts over decoys.
Besides that I've not fired the shotgun.

Still making excuses I guess.

Reward, 7 or so minutes later, another blue but this time down.

What a great am to enjoy the mts.
Such a change in scenery from my recent trips wheat country Mules archery hunts..

Going back Monday, just myself and the dog Brody.

Enjoy.......

Great pictures!!! I love to see the women out on the hunt and enjoying themselves.
English cocker or English springer spaniel?

Brody is a young springer, he shows desire to hunt, stays close. Great pet, now that I have a couple of training wings and he got his nose into his first bird we will see.

Heading out with just him Monday AM, we will cover a bit more ground,

Report to follow.

When I bring the girls I make it fun, hunting secondary.
