I did have one bad one... fell apart on me.. (after I fell on it)   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:  drove to leupold changed it out on the spot.. was back hunting the next day...
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

I only ask because kind of struggling getting it sighted in.... for instance, one shot was a couple inches off to the left and two inches low, so I adjusted a few clicks to the right and up, and the next shot hit 3" straight up and no side movement... Never had this before, not sure if its just a new rifle thing?  The gun groups great, just cant adjust it to zero well.

I put new better scope mounts on yesterday as I read some of the Tikka mounts arent that great, but no big improvement.

The internet is loaded with stories about Leupolds gone bad.
Most people justify it by saying how great the return policy is.
When I buy optics, I don't plan on using the return policy.
I have a buddy who missed a great whitetail because his Leupy was fogged on the inside.
Helped him replace it wth a Sightron SII and it's much clearer and brighter.

I think I may have found the problem, whoever had the rifle before me, didnt put it back into the stock properly and it was seated right. Hope to send a few rounds out of it at noon to find out!

That VX-3L sure looks good on that gun.  I have a regular VX-3 with the CDS and it was spot on for my Antelope and deer on the Wyoming trip.  My friend ranged the animal and I turned the dial and pulled the trigger.  Perfect shot and I am now a huge fan of the CDS dials.

Just for anyone wondering.  I talked with Leupold about modifying a VX-II and they said yes it can be done.  They wanted $90 for the retro fit and another $59 for a CDS dial.  You have to send the scope in as well.

My brother and dad had cds scopes for our loper trip, they were dropping antelope at 550-700 yards. I took 3 at just over 300 yards with a standard scope.
