trade/sale or keep?
« on: October 13, 2011, 06:58:07 PM »
Looking through the gun safe today, making sure that the kids rifles were good to go for this weekend and got to thinking..
I have quite a few rifles but no ar15. so what I am trying to figure out is to keep my tika t3 300wsm, which is a good shooting rifle dont get me wrong or trade/sale it to get a ar15? The reason why the tika is up for consideration is I have a 30-06,25-06, 308, 7mm, 30-30, and a 300 mag. and out of all of them the tika get's shot the least, and I do not have the dies to re-load a 300wsm. I took it in trade a few months ago, the guy before never even put a whole box through it said it kicked too much, I put on a limb saver recoil pad and didnt see a problem put the rest of that box through it to sight in, and one other box since.  :dunno: what would you do?

My Tika t3 300wsm is the best shooting rifle I have ever had.  I would get rid of something else.  But that is my own opinion.  Gotta do what ya gotta do.

If you get serious about selling it, let me know.  I have been looking at that very rifle for awhile now, and really would like to have one.

Just send me a PM anytime.

I would sleep on it. Depending on what tikka it is you might only get 300-400 for the rifle. If its just a used t3 or something like that. Depending on the scope you might get 500.00 or so for the combo. Most AR-15 are starting around 800.00 for a good rifle. Just something to look at.

. If you sleep on it you'll really want to get rid of it in the morning. That sounds like a recipie for a really sore back.  :chuckle:

You can build a cheap AR for $600.. I see lowers going for 150 and uppers for 375 and up.. If you buy parts kits and make a frankengun you might get cheaper. I spent 750 otd on my OLY K16, but then Ive prob got 300 or so in accessories. I figured out I could get the cheapest upper and lower plus the ssar15 buttstock for under 1000...

sebek556, with a name like that and youre saying you dont have anything chambered in .223 or 5.56? LOL Once you get an AR youre going to be buying all kinds of stuff for it, and then probably more ARs in other calibers. I had to have the .22 conversion kit, which I shoot more than .223 anyways, A 4-16 scope, a reflex sight, iron sights, extra mags, a cool case etc etc. Now I want to build a second one to waste ammo with, and probably a 9mm upper. Then I want a gamestalker from Oly.. The list goes on. good luck it will be your new addiction

:bash: well I was going to start running down my list of interested people on the tikka t3, but last night on the way back in from hunting my brothers truck was broken into and his only rifle stolen :bash:So I gave him the tikka.
 thanks everyone for the interest and input, but family comes first hope everyone understands.
oh and this will be my second ar-15 built one 10 years ago, after a friend was severely wounded a few other friends chipped in and we had it highly customized and gave it to him as a get well present.
