Well I read every post on this thread and most of the them are asking for clarification of if it was open or not to motorized use.

But I tend to agree with the original poster, because I had the same problem this past weekend. Hiked from a main road on a gated "closed to motorized use" road hiked about 2 miles going to an area that I knew there would be no other hunters. After getting midway up the road hiking across a few canyons and ridges heading towards a USFS road that I knew was washed out at the bottom so no vehicle access so they gated it and posted a "closed to motorized use". I see some idiot trolling around on his ATV going slowly stopping, standing up on his ATV to glass, after a few mins he would sit back down and continue on his ATV and stop at the next clear cut to do the same thing. PISSED ME OFF.  :bash:  :bash:  And yes I know for a FACT that it was closed to ATV's.  :twocents:

Illegal use should piss you off, and everyone else for that matter. That's what we were asking the original poster here; Was it illegal riding or does he just have a problem with ATVs and bikes? If legal, they've got the same right to do it as we have to walk it. If not, report the sucker and end it.

Correct and I venture a guess that we won't get an answer to that question...whether it was legal or not legal. I was just giving an example of my experience this past weekend. But on another note who are you suppose to report it to  :dunno: there isn't alot of Forest Service LEO's out there and not being able to catch up with the riders or there parked vehicle its tough to turn them in. Again it comes down to people following the rules and not being lazy, but if they continue to get away with it then what's there to stop em???

Call 911, call the county sheriff, call WDFW enforcement. Get the number for your local gamie and put it in your phone ahead of time. I have mine. When I have a problem at the goose area or up in the woods, I call him.

Wow I just noticed that was my 100th post, im now a hunter whoo hoo  :chuckle:  Yeah I agree with you Piano, sometimes it just doesn't work out they are slightly busy on opening weekend I am sure. My basic complaint is  "follow the rules" again I know this is unrealistic, but hey thats the way I wish it was.

Deer are not effected by the noise of a dirt bike. I hunt an area that has a dirt bike trail close to it, I have observed some very big bucks not even give a glance or lift a head to an uncorked big bore bike rip up the hill side.

So many hunters do not even understand how deer react to there environment. Don't just assume.

And x100 on hunting an area with no motorized access or closed roads for that matter if you cannot comprehend why someone is doing something you wouldn't  :twocents:

Have you guys noticed how much damage motorcycles have done in the Wenatchee National Forest compared to any ATV ? And they're legal. I have and it's horrible. Why can they be legal and do that and the antiATVers don't say squat about motorcycles ? Just food for thought my friends. Complain about the real problems and take action against those abusers, starting with the Forest Circus. They Ok it and don't do anything about it. Maybe if the antiATVers looked into this, they might turn their anger into something positive.  :dunno:
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

And I suppose you would also say that the horses do NO damage.....yeah right. If motorcycles are kept on trails that are intended for that purpose, they do less damage than that 1,000 lb horse does....if you dont like them go where they arent....there are very limited areas where they are legally allowed to ride their motorcycles anymore and it is getting more and more limited because of the a$$hats that cant follow rules.  :twocents: :twocents: besides that...they are paying more to use those trails than any other user group out there because they have to LICENSE that motorcycle....horses, hikers, and mountainbikers dont!  :twocents:

I don't know what world you're from, but you can ride licensed motorcycles anywhere on forest circus roads. Go up out of Leavenworth and look for youself. On road and off road, legally. I have ATVs and pay all those license fees, gas taxes, tire taxes, insurance etc. We CANNOT ride them everywhere like motorcycles can. It's *censored*s like you that don't know WTF you're even talking about. How many motorcycle/ATV clubs do you belong too ? Horses and cows do a helluva lot more damage than ATVs.  :ass:

I had friends who went up the entiat to go motorcycling this weekend. They plan it out every year and look forward to it. They stay on the trails that are legal, and pay for discover passes like they should.  Hunters have just as a bad rep as motorcycles do.  After reading your post, it appears they were doing nothing wrong :dunno:

I don't see the problem riding Dirt Bikes I do it almost year around. It saves wear & tear on my Truck plus saves me Fuel money on my Scouting,Shed hunting, doing my Trail Cams & accessing hunting areas etc... Granted your gonna have people who abuse the rules but I'm not gonna let it ruin my day. :dunno:

This happened to me on Nason ridge. Although the motorcycles came up after I had hiked in, in the dark. They're just like cars and trucks. Not all of them get out and walk. If you're on a popular trail or road system. You just need to jump off the trail a couple miles and problem solved.

Camp meat, Really! Mallard79 meant registered and tabbed dirt bikes, not licensed and I hope you would know that since you are so well versed in all things off road. You said you can license your atv, I don't know what state you live in but it can't be washington. Because atv's are never considered street legal, while some bike's are. It doesn't take a club to know what you are talking about because obviously you do not, stop being angry because you own an atv and can't ride them most places in washington, maybe you should have looked into that before buying your quad :dunno:

Stop making yourself look ignorant because I am sure you  are not, Mallard had an excellent point and was right, despite what your opinion is, get out and ride somewhere else then leavenworth and get a more well rounded base of knowledge.

The antis are happy today. The hunters are all fighting among themselves. Keep it civil, gang.

I think motorcycle hunters are lazy but I don't have a problem with them if they are doing it legally.

Luckily there is nowhere in my area that its legal to ride an ATV. The problem I have is when they ride them in behind NON MOTORIZED ACCESS areas. This happens way too often. Unfortunately the timber companies aren't willing to fork out the money for security, I don't blame them either, the ATVs really aren't hurting anything as far as the timber company is concerned, they want as many deer elk and bears killed as possible, those animals cause much more damage to the trees than a lazy guy riding around a gate on a quad or motorcycle.

Too bad for me I guess. And you are absolutely wrong if you think a mature buck, even a doe is not phased by hearing a motorized vehicle coming. Does not surprise me an ATV user would say something like that though.

I just need to add a few more coments. Somebody said entiat motorized trails are  open only to licesned street legal bikes, not true. You need up to date ORV tabs or up to date "street" tabs. And meet all the other requirments I.e. working headlight/tail lights, exhaust noise below 95 or 105 decibles, the list goes on.
Somebody else said dirtbikes are allowed on the roads outside of leavenworth, again, not true. I know of two roads open to dirtbikes in that area, and that's only to get from trail to trail. In order to be on FS roads you and your bike need to be street legal. Period.
Not trying to be an ass to anyone, just clarifying some information.
I read it on the internet, its gotta be real
