I had the chance to fish with the Sportsmans Reg boys this past weekend, and the apps are amazing, not only do they show you the units, but the topography, and your position within the unit boundaries with up to the minute satelite/gps feeds. Dick, Rick and Scott have made applying and hunting these states easier than ever! Hats off to you guys! Now I have to buy a droid! Lol

That is little bit better for the price, could be a little less, I might buy this app now.

Here is a link for you to save in your smart phone free of charge. http://wdfw.wa.gov/ Maybe the rest of the stuff in the app is worth buying. :dunno:

I already have a pdf file of the regs on my phone so if i don't have service I can still look up what ever I need.

Thanks for the question and input about the new price of our App.  Yes, we have the 2012-2013 Hunting Seasons at $5.99.  We are dialing in the balance between the cost to develop and update the App and the best price for all.

Thanks "gunnarnewt" for the good words about the App.  Yes! We all had a great time chasing (hunting) those fish...... ;)  We fish when it's fishing season and hunt when it's hunting season.....A great life, we all just need more time!

By the way, those who are experiencing problems, please email us directly at support@sportmanregs.com so we can understand the issue and work it.  Again, please be patient as we work through this new release. Thanks.   :)

Experiencing problems, tried to email to the address listed, got this message: Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

     support@sportmanregs.com

Technical details of permanent failure:
DNS Error: Domain name not found

So the support email doesn't work, so I sent a PM and am waiting, hopefully, for a response. I assume they are still in business since they are still selling the state-specific regs (which, in Washington's case, don't work on my DroidX). Anyone considering purchasing this app might want to hold off until, if, they get the bugs worked out.

Yeah I just talked to a friend at work this morning that said he is also having problems with his app too.  But he has been talking to someone in there tech support (I am not sure if its through email or phone) but she told him it was something wrong with his phone and he should go talk to Verizon about it.  So he did and they said his phone is fine.  Everything about his phone works and all his other apps work, just not this one.  Then he said she told him it must be a bad SD card, so he is going to get a new one tonight and try that.

I just purchased the Washington state maps/regs on my Droid Bionic, I still am only seeing the Idaho demo information data though. If I try to drop a pin in Washington it says “Not in any hunt area”. When I go to the “Regs Store” it only shows the demo under Installed Seasons, but if I click purchase/update again it says that Washington 2012-2013 Season is installed.

I tried emailing support@sportmanregs.com and got the following bounce back.  :bash:

**edit** corrected email address to support@sportsmanregs.com and it seems to have sent this time.

Had same problem with my Droid Bionic.  This is the email from support.

Hi Russ,
hmm... that's my #1 solution that has always the problem.  But let's see if we can get some more information to help me see what's going on here.

step #3 says "connect to a wireless network" like you did before.  When you connect to your wireless network, please double check that your phone is configured to use the wireless network for downloading data. If you are unsure how to check that , let me and I'll send instruction.

Please install the log collector application
1.. go to the Google play store
2.. search for "xtralogic logcollector" and install it
After installing the xtralogic logcollector app, please reproduce the problem:
3.. Uninstall the BigGameRegs app and reinstall it while connected to a wireless network (after you are connected to the wireless network, double check to see if your phone is configured to use the wireless network for downloading data).
4.. Open BigGameRegs and select the “Regs Store” tab
5.. Press the purchase/update button
6.. Watch for any messages that are displayed - you should see a message about downloading your Season and then see a message that the Season was successfully installed
7.. Wait until the messages are complete before proceeding.
8.. Press the back button so you get back to the main “Regs Store” page.
9.. Then select the Season you want active and the app will now display the regulations for that season.
If you don't see the Purchased Seasons (and given you've already reinstalled once, you probably won't see your season but all is not lost)
10. Open the xtralogic log collector (you will find it in your apps).
11. The log collector will open an email message containing your device log.  Please send it to support@sportsmanregs.com.
Your logs will help us to figure out what's going on and fix it.  I will contact you as soon as I receive the log and then again when I have a fix.

Did all the below and it is still not letting me select the Washington season.  It only shows the demo.

Hi Russ,

Sorry to hear you had difficulty installing your season.  We will make this work for you and appreciate your patience.
Before we get to the first step in fixing this problem, it would help us to know
1... The brand and model of your phone or tablet
2... The version of the Android OS that your phone uses
             select your phone settings
             select "about phone"
             send us the kernel version
3... The name of your service provider
4... The version of BigGameRegs you have installed (Find this in the settings tab in the app)

This situation usually means that the install was slow and timed out before completing.  Some of the Data carriers use a "data offloading" service which I think is delaying the download. Unfortunately, I think this delay is causing a problem with the install.
Please find a wireless network and connect to it, then:
1... Uninstall the BigGameRegs app and reinstall it (your season will automatically be reinstalled for free when you get to set #3 below)
2... Open the BigGameRegs app and go to the “Regs Store” tab within the app
3... Press the purchase/update button
4... Watch for any messages that are displayed - you should see a message about downloading your Season and then see a message that the Season was successfully installed
5... Wait until the messages are complete before proceeding.
6... Press the back button so you get back to the main “Regs Store” page
7... Then select the Season you want active and the app will now display the regulations for that season.
This should avoid the data offloading service and make the install go very quickly.
If you don't see your season, let us know and we'll try the next step to fix this problem.
If it works, please let us know so we can celebrate.

I downloaded the state of Washington regs...  It downloaded to my phone but it is not there when I open AP.

I ended up deleting it and reinstalling and it works fine.  Try and do it via wifi if you can.

No problem....I like it so far.  Lets me know where I am at and the regs for that unit if I am hunting close to the line.
