Picked up some Meindl's today
« on: October 29, 2011, 04:54:17 AM »
The holes in my other boots werent getting any smaller and they waterproofing wasn't getting any tighter so I swung by Frankonia today to put hands on some of the boots I have been looking at in their online store.

They are comfortable. They Didnt have the Hanwag's that I wanted in the store so i didnt get to try them on but I'm pretty happy with these. They have the memory foam system, a nice foot bed and  they feel different than my cheaper boots. a lot more support.  I tried on a couple different sizes and model's with a couple different pairs of socks. tried them sinched tight and not so tight and jumped and walked around Frankonia for about 40 minutes in various set ups.

I also tried on the Meindl Perfekt's but they didnt fit my feet well.

I'll give them a beating and let you know how it goes.

While in the store I also finished up the particulars on a rifle order....  ;)

Couple more angles.

The cushion from the memory foam is great.  The memory foam suggests wearing the boot for 5 minutes until it warms up the foam and conforms then retighten the boot. My heel doesnt float up and they are wide enough for my feet flinstone feet but not wide enough to float around. I like how the lace hooks go all the way down to the top of your foot so they are easy to take off.

I've got the Perfekts. Gonna go give them a beating in about 10 minutes.
Congrats on the new tires.

I've owned 2 pairs, loved the ankle support, the memory foam, and the dry feet BUT both pairs lasted less than a year, they separated at the sole.  1st pair sent back for an exchange 2nd pair for a refund, never again. I'm having better luck with my $100 Carolina's. Good luck with yours I think Cabelas still has a one year warranty on them.

I didnt get them from cabelas. The warranty says free from defects for the longest contractual period allowed by the country the shoe was purchaced in(germany 30 years) so I would think if they fall apart while I manage to take directed(note the overpriced can of meindl spray) care of them, I should be covered.

Gotcha  That may be the way to go, looks like a better boot than the slapped together Cabela's ones. Maybe I'm not done with Meindl after all :)

I have had my perfekts for 4 years and never had a problem.  They are the shorter hikers and they seem to fit me good.  I am curious about getting new 10 inch boots and I have it narrowed down to the Kenetrek Mt extremes and the Meindls. Has anyone taken these same boots for a spin? Let me know

I wore a pair for about 4 years also...purchased from Cabela's.  Good boots...especially in the rocks. Great support.
The only complaint I had is that they the laces would squeak when trying to put a stalk on.  Had to get the laces just
right!  :twocents:

Looks like a nice pair of boots.
When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

I've had mine for about 3 years now I think and use them a lot.  Mine are the 10" Perfekt Hunters. I love them....I got the laces to stop squeaking by greasing the heck out of the tongue area. I do have to renew it every now and then, about once a year. Other than that, no issues.

Same here!  With the same problem too! I love those boots though - best pair I've ever owned.  When I need another pair of boots hands down I'm buying another pair of the Perfekt hunters.

the little meindl book i got with them said to grease the tongue to remedy squeeking.
