Used them for years. I finally got two pair in a row that squeeked and I could never fix it, no matter how much oil, lube or whatever. They are a damn fine boot other than that, and apparantly they are known for that.

Hmmmmm! That's interresting.
That's usually my ankles popping these days. Sucks to get old and fat.

The Perfekt footbed is made of cork FWIW.
I greased the crap out of the tongue of my Meindls with Nikwax and the squeak went away. It comes back every so often but I look at it as a reminder to grease my boots.

I've had one pair for 3 years and a 2nd pr for 2.
They work great for me and don't ever see a reason to change.
The squeak stays away with boot grease, or I just have really bad hearing.

The squeek came up a a few weeks ago and I mink oiled them and it is gone.
Taking the boots to hit the austrian alps this week looking for gams, I think I have the perfect boot for the job.
