Anyone from the westside going out for Fall Turkey? I missed out in the Spring and still have a tag, thinkn there may be some around Elk Heights.

No plans yet, but my son is bugging me to get out after a turkey.  So I might have to figure something out.

I will be taking my older son (16) over Thanksgiving to see if he can get one.  We went last year in the snow and he got his first.  It should be a lot of fun watching him stalk the thunder chicken.

 :dunno:
Hope you didn't mean Elk Heights between Cle Elum & Ellensburg ... believe that only Units 105 thru 124 (NE corner of the state) is open for late fall turkey.

Didn't want you to get in deep turkey droppings ....

Several years ago, I was going on an early fall hunt and called a good friend who happened to be the local game warden to let him know I was in his area.  Was a little embarassed to find that they had changed the date from what was in the spring turkey phamplet to what was now in the fall big game phamplet.  I thought I was there several days after opening day, but found out I was there 2-1/2 days too early.
:bash:
Glad I called before versus after ... would not want to put a friend or stranger in the position (or myself).
