After soaking to get the blood out i often soak the divers in some kind of alcohol. My fave is Cheep blackberry brandy for a couple of days mixed with a little BB jelly. Wrap in bacon and cook on foil over grill. Got that from a college buddy of mine.  :twocents: I think the alcohol helps break down the meat and makes it tastier...

Im waiting to get about 10 more birds then I will tell you :IBCOOL: I plan on filling every tray in my dehyrdator and making a ton of jerky for me and the dogs.

I've had coots before. One time they tasted great! i'd swear on my mothers eyes they tasted like mallard...
 the second time when i made them for my girlfriend, now wife.... Like lover.  :puke: I don't know why they tasted so different. both came from the E wa and in similar areas... I think
alcohol brine solves many issues.  :twocents:
