It has been a great season.  Shooting nothing but mallards it seems.  Limits have been plentiful.
Cut em!

Been haveing an amazing season though I have not shot many ducks. Two of my grandsons ages 12 and 13 are hunting this year for the first time. Got to be there when the 12 year old got his first duck, his first snow goose and the day he and I together knocked down a Canadian together. The 13 year old lives in Tri-cities and so far this year we have only been out together for one short hunt, but on that day he made a fantastic first shot and dropped his first duck ever going by at what seemed like 60 MPH. Another evening while hunting by myself I sat in amazement as hundreds of mallards came in while I practiced my calling. I watched as they cupped their wings and sailed in about 15 yards away looking for the source of my calls. Never fired a shot that afternoon, I was to busy enjoying myself as I watched the show before me and had a great afternoon despite deciding not to take any birds. Years ago I all ways went out for as many birds as I could bring home and I certainly dont hold anything against those that do. Lately though I find the number of birds I harvest is just  not anywhere near as important as the quality of the time I get to spend out in the marsh with my son and grandsons. I love everything about it and I am having an awesome season so far!!
