That would be me in the Ditch.
As far as the missing bar thats a wild story with a wild Chick & a wild ride that I can't tell on a family friendly site
I would have gotten out eventually with the Winch but there's a big hole right there with a covert sticking out that had me worried about potentially popping a tire so I needed a little extra pulling power. Thanks for the help Ken.
As far as my Alta Muzzy hunt I shot at a 4x4 170 type Buck but killed a limb instead.
I could have shot a handful of Meat Bucks or a big Migrator 3pt on top of Chicamun but they weren't what I was looking for so its tag soup for me & I'm cool with that. I didn't see any Wolf sign but damn there's no shortage of Cats running around that area.

We saw no wolf tracks either. Buddy got a big 2x2, he hasnt shot a deer sense high school. We where happy with that. His father ate tag soup, good time and memories.

Well it looks like you got him out whole. Makes it nice when you can get them right off the road like that!

O.K. Sorry for the long wait, family, work, and taking care of a deer had to come 1st. My hunting partners including my son may kill me for posting but here it is. Twice this buck crossed the road within 50 yards of where I parked to walk in, within minutes of me heading up the mountain. We saw him (or one simlar) again on the bald hillside within 200 yards of the truck on the third day when we were looking at the truck through Bino's and saying damn it's a long ways back to the truck from the top of this mountain..
4th day found him same area 40 yards off the road with a doe. The snow was crunchy and loud, and he could not care less about me. His nose was on the doe and he just stood there and watched as I drew up on him and fired. 40 yards standing broad side wide open... This was day 5 of the hunt, 1/2 hour before dark. I was in 2 point mode and this was a serious gift from the hunting Gods. I may be thinking wishful on the whole 140 class but any deer at that point in the hunt was a trophy. Big big neck and the smell..... wow does he stink.

Here are a few more pics of the extraction of 50Cal's truck. This is what happens when your eyes are looking for deer instead of the road.
