Tikka Stainless .300wsm
« on: December 01, 2011, 05:37:11 PM »
what do you guys think of this deal?? Im thinking about buying this gun down here in Utah, I Have a Remington .280 and love the gun, I will probably pass it on to my wife then my son as my dad did for me. Here is the Ad, tell me what you think.

Like New Tikka Lite rifle. This is made in finland, sister company to Sako. Great tack driving rifle in .300 wsm. Has less than 50 rounds through it. Bought and set up to go on dream hunt that I never made it on. Stainless steel with Burris Fullfield 2 in 4.5-12 power scope. Comes with some Ammo. Not thrilled with selling the rifle but just sits in safe and collects dust. Want $650.00

added pic to go with it.

GOOD DEAL???

I have to wonder why a Tikka turned into a safe queen... that part makes me wonder. It's not a pretty gun so maybe the recoil on such a light rifle wasn't very good. If you could test drive it and its good then its a decent deal. Those things are notoriously tack drivers.  :twocents:

I'd grab the rifle and the first thing I'd do is put a limbsaver recoil pad on it. Kicks like a mule but it'll kill anything here. IIt could be a tackdriver; I know mine is.

that's a good deal, I love my Tikka, it is a tack driver.  I'd buy it, sell the scope and put a good scope on it and go kill stuff.

Nothing wrong with the scope, Burris has as good of warranty as anyone and their scopes are very good.

Tikka's are great, not only might it be a tack driver, it's GUARANTEED to be one! That is a pretty good price on that rifle with scope too.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

The problem I have with the scope is that it weighs 18oz. and its way more than anything you'll need for hunting.

Why put such a heavy, bulky scope on a nice light rifle?

Ha ha ha, if a 18 oz scope or another pound on your rifles matters, then you need to hit the gym, be a little more active in life or carry a few less snickers bars while hunting. Along with laying off some of the beers in camp.

It's not hard to fault a guy for wanting to save weight on a really lightweight rifle, that's an almost 25% weight gain!

Exactly, one of the biggest attractions to Tikkas is their light weight. Buying a 6lb rifle and throwing a hubble telescope on top is stupid.
